Does anyone else find it a little bit sad that there are over 5,000 members and like maybe 1/100 of us decide to use the forums.

Yes I am horrible I am on here all the time but it would be nice to see more people discussing various things.

Be it theory-crafting, lore, table top ,RPG the various video games or just random ideas about things.

A active community is important overall especially in the stage of development. This is the time when voices are heard and you can build a strong community of mech loving warriors.

And while I am sure this will only fall on those that are already involved in the forums I thank you for keeping me on my battletech knowledge toes.

now if only the would be a little more liberal with info daily....

Hello Mystery,

Your words did not fall just on those already posting, but some of us are still new to the forums and have been going thru them, seeing what others have posted.

Your idea about talking about other subjects would be quite interesting. I take it the site owners wouldn't mind discussions on gaming outside of the Battletech Universe?

Cool Mystery. Maybe I can start a few threads on some of the other game systems I play, such as 40K, Hordes, and the like. Maybe our first thread will be about the new 40K 6th edition rules coming out this weekend.

Not gonna lie, I just registered today. I knew about the site, but it wasn't until someone in the MWO IRC chat told me to get in touch with the MWT community that I actually jumped in. Quite frankly, due to my failing abilities at TTBT, and knowing alot of TTBT players to go at n00bs like me like a locust swarm, I was very hesitant to join in. Now, I am just getting the feel for the forums, but I have to say it's not as unpleasent as I feared.

I am going to make an active effort to put as much time in the MWT forums as I have the MWO forums, and hope I can contribute something to the forum.

I'm with ya, Mystery. Who wants to talk underwater basket weaving? :P

You know what I would like to see when the game comes out.. so game commentary like in SC2 did when it was in beta (late) this will bring new people and get a lot of people talking

If you do something like this they will come

I think it would be a great boon for the Devs to do one Dev vs. Dev 'Alpha' game, set with commentary, showing the STAC system, a full game, some tactical thoughts, some observations of how the map currently works, and over all one really detailed video. Thus far all the information is fragmented, and is somewhat hard to follow what is confirmed and what is just hear-say (Though there has been a great post for 'What we know so far'), there would be some definite benefit to seeing one vid that houses a lot of the systems in place so far and how the game is operating.

It'd be easy to gamecast them after the fact. It wouldn't take much time to edit the scenes together and string them together. Exciting rounds could be broken down and analyzed on a per-mech basis, boring rounds skimmed over relatively quickly. FRAPS works on Unity, so it should be easy.

Just need to get 2 people willing to do the VO.

You know what's funny is I've been gone for two weeks and I've come back and see a lot of new people, some of who have a post count in those two weeks already half of what I managed to accomplish from when the old forums first opened up -- what, three months ago? There seem to be some very enthusiastic new arrivals. =D

I have my work cut out to keep up with these young whippersnappers.

There's a flurry of posts after each Dev post/announcement.. and those announcements seem to be coming a bit more frequently now that we've switched to the new site, and are getting closer to Beta.

Big reason for myself suddenly coming on and being pro-active is because I want to get involved in the community. I have a few pipe dreams in the works and I'd like to contribute as much as I can. That being said I am no authority on the subject, just a big fan of Battletech and Mechwarrior. Came on after a discussion with another forum user, because quite frankly, the last Table Top Battletech forum (Which shall remain annonimus) was less than inviting to people trying to learn. General idea was if you don't know what your talking about, don't ask questions, just GTHO. There was a worry that would bleed on into the MWT forums because of the singularities of the games. I was thankfully wrong.
