While the Northwind Highlanders don't have a standard unit scheme, I like how this one incorporated the tartan into its overall look, and would love to see something similar available.

I have no real favorites. Some colors look better on some mechs than others.

That said, certain colors seem to scream one faction louder than others. For example, when I think clan wolf, I think shades of brown. When I think Federated suns, I think military shades of green. Steiner, Blue. etc...

To be honest, i don't have a favorite colour scheme mostly because most of them just stand out too much, i'd prefer simple urban, desert camos

I would want a custom color pattern since I like several of the lore ones I just don't have an attachment to them. I have always used a dark purple and a white or chrome look when I get to do custom paints in games.

While I like distinctly colored battlemechs as much as the next guy, when I field them in battle, I would hate to have those. Those are machines of war. If I´d pilot one of those beasts, I would sure hope for it to be camoflaged as good as possible.

I have no problem with a unit- or house insignia on a shoulder or a lower leg, but entering a battlefield clad in bright color would be a serious No-No.

Yes, Mechs do have themal, magnetic and seismic sensors in addition to the good old mark-1 eyeball, but from most novels, their pilots still rely to a great deal on the latter.

Those color schemes are for _parade_ not for battlefield use.

On the other hand, if _you_ want to field those colors, go right ahead. Whenever a shot, unlikly to hit (like 11+) hits one of your brightly colored mech, I would go "Take that! That´s what you get for showing up like a pimp!"


PS.: I like TheDragon´s Highlander mech. This kind of thing I could like (similar to the unit/house patch somewhere on the mech)

As one of the few Canopians on here, I have to pimp the 2nd Magistracy (Canopian) Highlanders. Nice and simple, and the AWS shoulder art doesn't hurt either.
