Majong Scrolls is another F2P collectible card game happening out there, though it's hard to say how long it will stay in beta. Plus you've got last year's Card Hunters which was huge at PAX, they have been in Beta for about 3 months now.
Add in the Blizzard announcement and it seems as though this area is going to become quickly saturated.

That's the beauty of it being free2play, you won't have to drop any money on it. I completely respect peoples issues with collectible games, but it's something they decided about MWT very early on and I don't expect it to change. The good news is you'll have the opportunity to try it out for free.
Does that mean you'll like it? Who knows? Every game has people it doesn't appeal to. At least you can figure that out relatively easily with a game like MWT.

No, they've stated that those of us in the Beta, and this is prior to founders as well, can state we are in Beta.
